South Surrey-White Rock, BC
This install is one of our flagship projects, that exemplifies the opportunities for under-utilized spaces. This project featured 7 cedar raised garden beds, coated with a semi-transparent black stain, planted with a mix of vegetables and herbs. Each planter was equipped with either black metal trellises, or custom pine obelisks coated with a transparent top coat for indeterminate tomatoes, peppers, beans and peas. Three brand new beds were formed, and planted with a mix of native perennials, edible shrubs (blueberries, and raspberries), edible perennials (strawberries, horseradish and asparagus), and 5 fruit trees (plum, pear, fig, apple, and cherry). A flagstone pathway and patio was interplanted with creeping thyme, and the remaining area was sown with micro-clover.
